Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 18, 2026

Short version: X Downloader does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics SDKs, and no advertising trackers. Everything you do inside the app stays on your device.

1. Who this policy is from

This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS application X Downloader (the "App"). It explains what data the App accesses on your device and how that data is used. By using the App, you agree to the terms described below.

2. Information we do not collect

The App does not collect any of the following:

We have not integrated any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tag-management SDKs. There is no server operated by us that the App talks to.

3. Information that stays on your device

The App stores a small set of values locally on your device, using Apple's standard UserDefaults API, so the App can remember your preferences between launches. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the App.

Examples of locally stored values:

We declare a corresponding "Required Reason" for this use of UserDefaults in the App's Privacy Manifest, in line with Apple's API privacy requirements.

4. Network requests the App makes

To resolve the metadata of a public post you paste into the App, the App sends an HTTPS request to the public third-party endpoint api.fxtwitter.com, which is operated independently of us. The request includes only the post identifier you provided and a generic User-Agent string — no personal information, device identifiers, or account data are attached.

When you confirm a download, the App fetches the video file directly from the media host returned by that metadata response. We do not proxy, log, or store any of these requests.

Because these requests are made over the public internet, the operators of api.fxtwitter.com and the media host may receive standard network metadata such as your IP address as part of normal HTTP traffic. We do not have access to their logs and cannot make commitments on their behalf. If this concerns you, please review the privacy notices of those services or avoid using the App over networks you do not trust.

5. Photo Library access

After a video has finished downloading, the App asks for permission to add the video to your Photos library using the Add Only authorization scope. This permission is only used to save the video file you just downloaded. The App does not read, list, modify, or delete any other photos or videos in your library.

You can revoke this permission at any time from Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → X Downloader.

6. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because the App does not collect personal information from any user, this is true regardless of the user's age.

7. Third-party content and copyright

The App is a general-purpose download tool. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to download and use any content you access through the App. Please respect the rights of the original creators and the terms of service of the platforms where the content is hosted. Do not use the App to circumvent paywalls, protected content, or content from private accounts.

8. Changes to this policy

If the App's behaviour ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will publish an updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes for the affected build.
